I’ve always known that the leading fitness, health, and beauty experts had blogs, but I thought I had to be at their level in order to attract a lot of people to my website. This preconceived notion completely stopped me from taking action on creating a blog.
It wasn’t until early last year when I discovered the truth about how simple it is to create a passive income from blogging. Soon after starting, my blog allowed me time and financial freedom.
(these results are unique and results do vary, please see our income disclaimer here)
After doing more extensive research, following the leading fitness, health, and beauty experts, and being mentored by top producing bloggers, I have learned that while expert status (10,000+ hours in a specific field) is helpful, it is certainly not required to have success from a blog.
You’ll want to pay attention to this blog post because you will discover how blogging is your ticket to financial and time freedom.
There are several benefits of blogging, but I broke down 5 specific benefits of blogging relating to creating a passive income within these industries.
5 Benefits of Blogging Relating To Creating A Passive Income
1) Business Without Boundaries
The way I used to do business as a personal trainer and health & beauty product distributor was all dependent on my local area. Training clients in a local gym, recruiting clients within the gym walls, hosting home meetings at a local customer’s house, or calling friends and family to host a party, were all techniques I used to build an income.
What I was doing in my businesses wasn’t wrong, but it felt completely inefficient and my businesses were 100% unsustainable. I knew times were changing and having an online presence was key to sustainability and creating more freedom in the long run. So I decided to upgrade my business techniques, which in turn, overcame the common time and distance restrictions I faced.
Having an online presence within a blog literally demolishes all boundaries. The amount of people you can reach is virtually unlimited and your blog is open for business 24/7/365.
You can check out my friend and business partner Tiffany’s story on how she was able to take her dog training (brick & mortar) business to another level by having an online presence here.
2) A Blog is Your Online Business Hub
Whether you have a brick & mortar business or not, having a blog can be another place to best represent you and your business. You can easily customize the website and have full control of what your viewers what to feel when learning about your business. You can use the blog to represent your brick & mortar business, or use it to start a new business focusing on an online revenue stream.
Customers want to buy products or services from people they trust. Your blog is the most efficient way to build a relationship with your audience. When prospects start to see who you are through your writing and video blog posts, they will find out how much you care about solving their problems. When they see that you care and that you are THE best person to help them solve their problems, their buying temperature becomes red HOTT.
Your blog is your online business hub that is open 24/7/365.
3) Sell Products & Services 24/7
This is where a lot of fitness professionals get stuck… health & beauty distributors, not so much. Honestly, this is the easy part. If you have no prior experience is selling products or services online and want to start monetizing your blog today, do not try to create your own products at first. The quickest way to start creating a passive income is to find an affiliate program to be a part of. Trust me on this, you’ll be able to build a passive income faster with proven products that have already been tested successful in the marketplace. I wrote a blog post about affiliate marketing here.
By taking the focus off of researching the marketplace and creating your own products to just marketing and selling, it significantly decreases the amount of time going from zero sales to some sales to a lot of sales. People will love you for providing products that have been proven to be real solutions to their real problems.
Health & beauty distributors – you already have the products, now it is just a matter of leveraging the internet in order to create a passive income.
4) Collect Emails
The money is in the list. Collecting emails and list building is incredibly essential to establishing a passive income. Try to find one top producing fitness, health and beauty expert that does not capture emails from their audience. When you start to collect emails within your blog, this is your chance to establish a “know, like, trust” relationship with them. Not only will they never miss a blog post because you’ll be sending them a preview of it within an email, but they will also never miss a promotion of a new product or service that you are offering that can solve their problems.
Instead of starting every day from square one, you are able to continue to give value to an entire list of people. In one of my recent video posts, I go into detail about how to capture emails and market to your list. You can check it out here.
Eventually you will be able to spend just a couple hours per week blogging and emailing your list and BOOM you are making sales like crazy because people have started to know, like, and trust you!
5) SEO is internet manpower working for you 24/7
The keywords that you use in your blog posts as well as the constant delivery of value to your readers will turn your blog into a automated cash machine. According to Neil Patel, one of the top blogging experts, if not THE top blogging expert, told me that it takes about 50 blog posts or so for Google to start to take notice and reward you for creating consistent content.
Once Google starts to take notice that people are visiting, hanging around, and sharing your posts with others, they will reward you with higher rankings. First page rankings is critical for any business – brick and mortar or online. High rankings means an explosion of new readers every month, and more of an opportunity to create a passive income.
In the beginning, it is critical to put in the time to blog daily and consistently tell others about your posts in order fast track SEO (search engine optimization) working for you.
The hardest part to swallow about blogging is it is not a lottery ticket. For the first 90 days of starting a blog, it is critical to put your head down and blog daily and tell others about your blog. There are a lot of tricks in order to get a lot of traffic to your site, like the ones I covered in this post, but you’ll only reap the massive benefits in the long run if you provide consistent value to your readers.
Eventually you will be able to hire ghost writers to contribute to your blog daily, so you don’t have to. FREEDOM BOMB!
Conclusion:
Like I said, blogging is not a get rich quick scheme, but if you look at the benefits above and the ability to achieve passive profits, it is undeniable that you can achieve that without “expert” status. All of the experts had to start somewhere, and most of them had no idea that their blogs would transform their lives. They just wanted to share their voice and feel good about making a difference in someone’s life.
In the upcoming emails, you will be at an advantage when starting your blog, because you will learn the specific strategies on how to start creating a passive income right away.
